Heart Searching

October 4, Day 36–The Word–"All my longings lie open before you, O Lord" (Psalm 38:9).

Thoughts
To help you prepare for His presence, let God search your heart through the following questions.
     1. Is my delight in pleasing Him or in my own honor? Our "motives are weighed by the Lord." To the degree that we have the mind of Christ, we, too, will weigh our motives. Our natural mind might say, "I wonder if others are impressed." The mind of Christ asks, "Am I doing this to please God?" If we know He is pleased, we are satisfied.
     2. Does my joy depend upon success in numbers, another's admiration, public recognition, or money earned? God is looking for those who care about nothing except opportunities for giving Him glory.
In the first magazine article I had published, the publisher accidentally omitted my name as author. At first I was disappointed, but then I said, "I did this for You, God, so it's okay." And it was.
Paul tells us in Philippians 2 that Jesus did not consider equality with God something to be grasped. "Equality with God" for us could represent an elevated position or special prominence.
Soren Kierkegaard titled one of his books " Purity of heart is to will one thing." Our hearts are pure when all pretense, masks, and hidden agendas, are stripped away. What God reveals He will also cleanse. Trust Him to cleanse all that you confess to Him. God will equip you to be all for His glory!

Come to the Fire Prayer Request
Pray that the program logistics and all the behind-the-scenes working will flow effectively and not distract from what God wants to do in the lives of the women who attend.
